We ate here for my best friend's birthday and it was such a cute little spot! My friends ordered the tempura green beans and coconut curry soup! Not a green bean kind of girl but the soup was so good!! I liked my roll but fair warning it's got a kick to it. Our server was very nice and patient with all of our complicated orders. I'd definitely come back!

Abhi has incredible cuisine. The appetizers were fantastic and the sushi rolls were amazing. It's not just good sushi for Birmingham, it's as good as I've ever had across the country.

We were greeted and sat immediately, we even had the option of dining inside or outside. After taking our seat on the balcony we were greeted quickly by our waiter Em, she was wonderful! To start we had the pork mo-mos and tuna tataki. Both of which were wonderful, the extra dollops of sauce on the tataki board were delicious! Each of us had a drink with our meal, the Mississippi Summers was our favorite! As we came to dinner we each ordered a roll and shared another, the dragons breath was a definite favorite. The Abhi beer batter roll is perfect for someone who is just starting a sushi journey and may want a slightly cooked roll, it was delicious. Additionally the fire roll was fantastic!

The atmosphere of Abhi won me over more than anything else they offered. The theme of the restaurant is really cool and makes a great date-night dinner. I ordered the Spicy Steak Salad- it was very flavorful and had a lot of steak with it. I'm normally not the biggest fan of steak but I decided to venture outside my comfort zone tonight and try it. I really enjoyed the salad but the star of the show of the Khao Soi- a flavorful noodle dish that's in a coconut milk based curry. While I loved the Khao Soi, Abhi's "sister restaurant", Maro, serves the exact same dish for slightly cheaper. Personally, I prefer Maro over Abhi, as I'd argue that Maro has a slightly better menu and is more budget-friendly (and has just as great theming inside). We also ordered the Blazer Roll to share. It wasn't the best sushi I've had but it was pretty good. Maybe not $16 good, but good nonetheless. Overall, I'm not opposed to returning to Abhi, but it would be hard to eat here over Maro since they are both in the same shopping district in downtown Mountain Brook.

I'm always hesitant with Asian fusion spots, because you risk diluting the cuisine, but Abhi toes the line well! They keep the authenticity of the cuisine but have a great mixed menu with Japanese sushi and ramen and a mix of Thai and other southeast Asian noodle and curry dishes. You are greeted with traditional music and decor to really set the vibe, and the restaurant is filled with lots of light making it very welcoming. We had the momos and lumpia to start, which both were solid small bites, if maybe a touch lacking on flavor. The Panang curry really hit the spot with a nice soft spice and full body flavor. Server brought my friend some extra chili oil when he wanted some extra spice. Next time I want to check out the Ube cake or ice cream, the pictures looked delish.

Abhi was incredible! I had the khao soi, and the rich curry paired perfectly with the flavorful pork belly. The combination of spices and textures made every bite a delight. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious. Tired edamame and sushi as appetizer Got curry beef as main dish which was delicious. Ube cake to share for birthday and it was excellent. Definitely will go back and try different dishes.

New favorite spot in Birmingham! I cannot believe it's taken me so long to try out Abhi's. My friends have raved about this place for years and I finally decided to give it a try. The area is extremely nice and definitely a breath of fresh air from downtown Birmingham's vibe. The staff was lovely and so kind- definitely made the experience even better. We sat on the outside strip and it was a great mix of elegance and fun all around. The lamb curry was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the dinner! It was absolutely delectable- tender and flavorful meat sat atop a bed of basmati rice, perfectly matched with tangy, crisp onions and lime juice. The sushi was just as good; it was beautifully spicy and was so unbelievably fresh. A wonderfully savory experience and we cannot wait to be back!!

I LIKE THE WAY YOU ROLL! For those who don't know, the dish we know today as Sushi has quite the back story. Originating in Southeast Asia, this dish, was used as a way of preserving raw fish. Really makes you think doesn't it? Anyway, needed a spot to grab dinner with a friend this past week. We hadn't seen each other in a while and decided that finding a sushi spot would be the way to go. We have always enjoyed our experiences at sushi spots in the past, so we said why not! I have been recommended Abhi by multiple people, but never seem to find myself in Mountain Brook in the evening time. Just during the day, I guess you could say I was getting a full circle new experience. The interior is very festive and colorful. Since it is restaurant that is located upstairs they have an elevator option as well as stairs. The elevator is gorgeous on the exterior, but I felt like they could have extended the beauty on the inside too, as it is just a plain boring interior of an elevator. Once you arrive upstairs, sexy is the first word that pops into my head to describe the interior. Black and red are the majority colors with paintings and fabulous decor. We decided on sitting on the patio. The weather is so beautiful this time of year, it's almost a crime not to sit outside and enjoy the cooler weather while it's here. Abhi is only opened limited hours. 5-8:30, so definitely an after work kind of spot. They have an array of menu items from sushi rolls, noodle/ramen bowls and much more. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura roll which was fabulous. Unfortunately, service was painfully slow on a Wednesday night. After ordering drinks and food we sat and waited and waited some more. Once our drinks arrived, we had nearly finished them before our entrees arrived. Though I did like that they gave each table a water pitcher so you didn't need to hunt down your server if and when water was needed. Overall, fantastic spot to grab dinner and a cocktail. Will be back for sure! There are so many menu items I would love to try. Especially the sizzler, it smelled so good.
